Terrorism

Terrorism activity is often concentrated in certain ears of the world, since those areas most likely have ethnic groups which do not get along with each other the Middle East is a prime example of this. Areas of the Middle East are considered holy land for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Even though they worship the same god, but with different names, they do not get along with each other. In the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, Major Nidal Malik Hasan killed 13 people and wounded several others because he believed that the American soldiers that were being sent to Afghanistan were there just to kill Muslims. Even though he was an American soldier he still pleads his alliance to Islam. Terrorism is not just concentrated in certain areas it happens right here in the United States as well.

Most of these sites of terrorist activities all involve bombing, kidnappings, hostage takings, assassinations, arson, hijackings and firebombing. Terrorist believe that these types of activities is the best way to get their point across. On July 7, 2005 four Islamist terrorists planted four bombs, three on underground trains and one on a double decker bus in Tavistock Square. These bombs killed 56 people including the bombers. These terrorists used organic peroxide-based explosives packed into rucksacks. I believe they decided bombs were the best way to kill as many people as they could in one shoot.

I do not believe that laws, procedures, or organizations, national or international could have prevented either the London or Fort Hood attack. I feel no matter what laws they put into place terrorist will find a way around it. I know here is this country we have laws against terrorism, and there are procedures in place to purchase guns but that did not stop an American Army Major from buying a gun that he used to kill fellow soldiers. Maybe we could come up with an organization that could keep a closer eye on things like gun control or explosives.

I really do not know who should determine what sort of laws and organizations are most effective because it seem like there have been so many attacks that the laws and organizations cannot handle them. The American government has set laws and there are organizations that are supposed to protect us from terrorist but 9/11 still happened. I personally think that no matter who we put in charge they are still going to fail because if someone wants to attack someone else
