Han China Vs Imperial Rome

After analyzing both similarities and differences in the methods of political control of both the Han China Empire and Imperial Rome Empire, you may notice that there is more similarities of the two empires than there is differences. Both empires seeked imperal expansion, however they differed by there opposition of governing and their techniques used in keeping control over the citizens.

One similarity is that both empires were controlled under one central leader. The leader of Han China had complete power but set up official governed districts, he also used Confucianism to train the people to become Bereaucrats so they could enforce his policies. The leader of Imperial Rome set up a monarchy disguised as a Republic so that he can have total control of his citizens. In result the citizens felt like they were contributing to the government, and also allowd the emperor to maintain control over the empire. Also they both created roads to promote trade.

Han China and Imperial Rome sought to expand their borders of their empires through imperial expansion. Han China invaded territories like Korea and Vietnam, likewise Rome conquered all of the Meditteranean area. Although both empires had armies big enough to conquer and control new territories and the ones they already had, Rome was very tolerant and fair to its newly conquered territories by allowing them freedoms, unlike Han China.
