Everyone has heard the saying "it's a small world". People use that phrase when one encounters someone in an unexpected place or even at an unexpected time. In the movie Crash by Paul Haggins, there are plenty of times when one could say "it's a small world". In the movie, events happened that intertwined many of the characters.

Rick Cabot and Jean Cabot were walking down the street to their truck they see two black males walking towards them. Jean immediately clings on to her husband tightly. As they are entering their truck they are told to exit their truck at gun point by the same two males that they seen as they were walking to their truck. After that incident Jean Cabot discriminate against any minorities. The Cabot's got their locks changed by Daniel. Daniel is a Mexican male with a few tattoos once again Jean begins to discriminate against him.

John Ryan is a police officer his partner is Tom Hansen. John Ryan is a white male and is racist against blacks. He uses he's authority to get away with being racist. He also uses his authority to molest Christine Thayer. John Ryan and his partner Tom Hansen pull over a black truck same make and model of one that was stolen but the license plate didn't match. They pulled the truck over and made Cameron Thayer and his wife Christine Thayer exist to frisk them. As John Ryan was frisking them he was also say quit a few racial comments. As he frisks Christine Thayer he begins to molest her as he husband and Tom Hansen watch.

Graham Waters is a black detective that works for the L.A.P.D. He has a sick mother he takes cares of and a younger brother named Peter Waters he is jealous of. He is jealous of his brother because of the relationship he has with his mother. Graham feels as though he is not being the typical black he made something of his where, as his brother did not. Graham also deals with internal racism. Not only does he see his self as better than other black males he does not date black women either. Graham has sexual relations with Ria. Ria is also a detective that would for the L.A.P.D. Graham's brother Peter runs the streets with his good friend Anthony. Peter follows behind Anthony. Peter believes in God and does ungodly things with Anthony. Anthony is also a black male that always has something negative to say about how black people are treated. But Anthony is just another stereotype and he is also a hypocrite.
