Jewish History- Mohammed's Speech

People of Arabia. The angel of G-d, Gabriel, has come to me to bring you his final message. The name of this G-d is Allah. Gabriel has told Allah that he has chosen me to lead the people of Arabia. He has informed me that Abraham, Moses and Jesus were all prophets of Allah, but has chosen me to be his final prophet. Gabriel told me to embrace the will of Allah and to shine upon you the new religion of Islam. The meaning of this great word, Islam, is submission or obedience to G-d. I have learned that life on earth is just phase before eternal life. In order to obtain this eternal happiness you must follow the laws of Islam, for if you do not your eternal life will be filled with misery. This religion is based on charity and equality. We believe in only one G-d and strongly disagree with worshiping idols. There are five duties in which one must follow in order to obey the laws of Islam. One, believe in one G-d. Two, one must pray five times a day. Three, one must give charity. Four, one must fast from sunrise to sunset for one month. Five, one must visit Mecca (if you can afford it) once in your life. My people have written a book that the teachings of Islam are based on. This wonderful book is called "The Koran". This is the book of which all of you shall follow. However, if a Jew desires to convert to Islam, we must accept them into our Muslim society.

The Pact of Umar shows that we, Muslims, are superior to the dhimmis, and will ensure peace for obeying with the pact. Every Jew and Christian must follow this document. They are forbidden to convert anyone at all to their religion, and are certainly not allowed to try and prevent anyone who wishes to convert to Islam. Dhimmis must promise not to raise their voice when following the dead at funerals. Also, they are forbidden to use a horse or a mule as a mean of transportation. It is only permitted for them to ride a donkey without a saddle.

Each and every one of you shall adapt to this wonderful religion and follow these laws of Islam. For if one does follow these commandments then they will
