Strategic Assignment

In the world today consumers have an abundant amount of choices. At times when trying to choose a certain product we have to take into account that there are different levels of quality. One must also consider what merchant to purchase from. Kudler has to decipher how they would like new technology to advance their business. There are many factors to consider in order to-reach the final outcome. For instance, the question of how new technology creates business opportunities; which strategies to use and how to incorporate them into a particular business.

In recent years most businesses have restructured their organizations to fit into the current times. These changes have reduced error rates, faster turn around on customer orders, quicker time to market for new products, and other improvements in performance. In order to carry out the changes the companies usually use computers and other electronic communications. In turn this produces the flow of business which helps with the transfer of information from one point to another. It also cuts redundant tasks and reorganizes the production process which eliminates layered tasks.

By Kudler reengineering their whole system they may save lots of money. Cutting back on hiring and reducing their employees may help as well. This process can help the firm respond quickly to shifts in demand, change orders of suppliers and cut down on unsold inventory. Overall, new technology is most likely the best route for Kudler to go with at this time. This should help with the increase of their financial status. It provides opportunities for universal business as well as providing a flow on effective promoting. It is a chance to profile the virtual business in the global market. Changes in technology would allow Kudler to gain a great deal of knowledge in specialty foods. Then they would be able to use a different avenue to capture the eyes of multiple customers. For instance, since Kudler already has a system for customers to attend cooking classes and taste testing; they could provide the classes on-line for a fee. This would also allow customers the opportunity to taste the gourmet cuisines offered by the company. Consumers may also order products and specialty items.

I believe the generic strategy that Kudler is using would be the frequent shopper program and also their word of mouth strategy for marketing. I support my thoughts, because although a frequent shopper may be an assured customer, not all of them will tell the next person. Kudler is using this strategy in order to cut back on marketing costs. The generic strategy is geared to savor every extra cent that may be saved. Therefore, Kudler may be focusing too much on saving instead of what is really at hand. I believe Kudler would best benefit by focusing on higher objectives.

Although, there are a few advantages that a generic strategy may offer. It doesn't completely satisfy the financial budget. I believe Kudler should use other methods that can maximize their strategy. The success or failure of Kudler depends on internal capabilities and resources. External forces, issues, trends, and events that happen outside of their control. In order for them to identify what is happening both internally and externally, they need to gather information from a variety of sources. Kudler needs to come up with a business report card, current organizational assessment and a strategic performance
