What's New and What's Next in Employment Law for 2013

I was intrigued by three decisions presented during the webinar: the use of the FaceWash app, the Veganism court decision, and the irresistible employee court decision.

The FaceWash app is an app that promises to remove any offensive words from employees' facebook pages. I wonder whether or not the use of this app will be considered ethical by a court since it might interfere with the employees' right to freely express themselves. Moreover, the presenter said that around 75% of employees are using social media in the work place without receiving training on how to use it. On the other hand, there is a court decision that surprised me more. In this case, a female employee was fired due to the manager's wife alleging that the female employee was irresistible to her husband. The court agreed with the wife and dismissed the employee suit. I think that the one that should have been fired was the husband for being unable to behave as an adult and respect both the employee and his wife.
