Sexual Morality

Why Shouldn't Tommy and Jim Have Sex? A Defense of Homsexuality

1. Homosexual sex is unnatural. I don't recall anywhere in the Bible where God said it was okay for two males to conjoin in marriage or any other "activities." In fact in the book of Genesis, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah by brimstone and fire for such homosexuality. I do not believe unnatural means that something is disgusting; something can be unnatural and disgusting, which homosexuality is. God did not form two Adam's; he formed an Adam and an Eve. I believe people do choose to be homosexual. If anybody is familiar with the Bible, then they would know homosexuality is immoral. I do believe that homosexuals would not be accepted into Heaven, considering God's act on Sodom and Gomorrah. I believe God thinks it's immoral, which in my opinion should give everybody the same opinion. Human beings are not created by homosexuals. This is the part why Adam and Eve were created. Girls should like boys and boys should like girls, end of story.

2. Homosexuality is indeed harmful for those who engage in it. Majority of AIDS came from homosexuals. I do not agree with the argument that women ought to prefer lesbian sex. I believe if a woman were worried about sexual diseases or AIDS, then they would take the precarious steps before engaging in sex. They should have their male partner tested before having sex and use protection. There are ways for a woman and men to protect themselves before having sex, preferring homosexual sex shouldn't be the alternate decision. Since majority of AIDS carriers are male, how is there a question whether or not homosexuality is harmful? If a homosexual man who is a carrier of AIDS wakes up one morning and decides he is heterosexual, engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman who becomes pregnant from the man is harmful to the woman and child, and to the future generation.

3. The practice of homosexuality does represent a threat to society with the last example I gave to the previous question. It makes AIDS spread to more and more people and makes our society more vulnerable to the non curable disease. The opinion from the Roman Catholic priest gave a relevant opinion, "Homosexuality is bad for society. If everyone were homosexual, there would be no society." With the following argument after his comment, homosexual men should not be able to donate sperm for artificial insemination to continue society. God did not create human beings, male and female, for the homosexual man to donate sperm to the homosexual woman to keep society going; therefore it is immoral for homosexuality and a threat to our society.

Majority Opinion in Bowers v. Hardwick

1. In response to Justice White's comment, the laws stated are well advised. "It should not require a judgment on whether laws against sodomy between consenting adults in general, or between homosexuals in particular, are wise or desirable." People's judgments shouldn't be taken into consideration for the decision of the court case. It is stated in stone and in the bible that it is immoral and unnatural. It should not be wise or desirable for a man to have sexual feelings towards another man or a woman with another woman. It should not be right for homosexuality inside or outside the home. It is not right to murder someone inside or outside the home. It is not right to molest a child inside or outside the home. It is not right to abuse another person inside or outside the home. Therefore it should not be right for homosexuality inside or outside the home. Since God destroyed two cities by brimstone and fire for sodomy acts, it should not be wise or desirable for anybody to be homosexual.

2. It is a sound argument that it is necessary that homosexual sodomy, even between consenting adults in private, be considered a criminal offense; toleration of homosexual sodomy would lead to long-term consequences disastrous for society. It should be considered a criminal offense because it is unnatural and immoral. If society tolerates homosexual sodomy we will be faced with long-term disastrous consequences. If more and more people accept the fact of homosexuality then more and more people will become homosexual, due to the acceptance of the fact. Thus, our society will be living against the bible and the life God wants us to live.
