There are many reasons as to why changing the school dress code is a bad idea. First off, the school dress code was obviously created for a reason. The schools wouldn’t have made them unless they had a good reason.
Dress code helps students stay focused
Dress code helps students focus more on school, and less on fashion. If we allowed students to dress how they want they would spend more time worrying about their outfit, and less time studying or focusing in class. School doesn’t have to be a runway show, it is an environment for learning. If they want to express themselves they can do it on their own time, away from school. Education should be the #1 priority of every student. That is why we are here, to get an education and prepare for our futures, not to worry about material and physical things like dress code and brightly colored hair. Too many people would get into arguments, fights, cause people to be offended, or dress in a provocative manner that isn’t appropriate for the school environment.
Dress code avoids the problem of distracted male students who aren’t mature enough to control their emotions and hormones
At this age boys can’t be trusted to control their impulses. Seeing certain parts of the female body can distract a male from completing school work or paying attention in class. Although this isn’t the female’s fault, it is still a major issue and should be controlled. Females should have enough respect for themselves to cover their bodies anyways. Certain parts of the body should be kept private from everyone else because they are no one else’s business to see but the owners of said body. You are precious and special, not a display for all of the other people around you to look at. The same could be said about girls staring at boys. We would face distraction by seeing
