A TATTLE TALE
Group assignments require contribution from each member according to his/her area of expertise. It is generally true that everyone in this world has some strengths which when channeled in to a work in the form of group assignment will result in a very comprehensive analysis of problem and problems might get solved in best possible angle.
According to me, the first mistake we as a group did was not sit together before the assignment to discuss the problem at hand and the best possible solution for the same. During this period we could have leveraged on strengths of each member of the group and put on some fresh perspective into the solution of each of our part. Secondly K.C. showed a very lackadaisical attitude when confronted with the situation in which he put other group members and was not even apologetic for the plagiarism.
I would not like to bring up the case to the professor right now because it might tarnish the image of K.C., and questions can be raised about the integrity of our first submission through no fault of ours. Instead I will first call every other member of the group and tell them to be a bit more serious about the group submissions because as evident from the answers of group members A, B and C they are also not very serious about the end result of their collective effort and they are just content with doing their part. Then I shall ask them to confront K.C during the next group meeting. Next I will schedule a group meeting with K.C. where we should discuss in length, the reasons for his behavior with him. There might be a chance that K.C. could have some genuine personal reasons for behaving in such a way. If not then all the other members of group should challenge him to be more ethical in his dealing with other future group assignments and to be more serious when his actions might affect others as well. The response of K.C. and his attitude should be duly noted and if his attitude is not found to be proper then he should be threatened with severe consequences in future, including complaint, if such actions on his part are repeated.
During the discussions, my tone will be as friendly as possible because we have to work together in future as well and best output in the future may only be obtained if the relations between each group member are as amicable as possible. Stricter tone will only be used if a stalemate is reached during discussions.
