Welcome to a brief tutorial on practicing narcissism. The stepping stones which follow this introduction to becoming a narcissist are basic yet can seem extreme at first. By choosing to read this tutorial, you have shown proof of your sincere interest towards the world of narcissism and becoming an accomplished narcissist. Before we begin our exploration towards your new lifestyle, you should understand how narcissism is defined. According to the dictionary narcissism is obsessive and excessive self-love. If you think you already possess the skill it takes to be a master narcissist you have probably stopped reading already. However, if you have not concluded reading, you are not a master narcissist, and it is a good thing you have a copy of this tutorial to guide you down the educated path of narcissism.

The best way for anyone to learn how to become a narcissist is to emulate someone who is already narcissistic. Emulation can be tricky, so I am going to show you how narcissism plays a role on my lifestyle. If I can show you how I practice narcissism with out considering myself a master narcissist; then you should be able to take my basic knowledge and with it achieve the image you desire. Please, also keep in mind my views are to be taken only as opinions and/or assumptions; therefore my writings may be considered bias.

Although I do love myself, I am not obsessed with myself. A good example of self-obsession is from where the word narcissism is derived. The word narcissism is derived from the Ovid, a popular story in Greek mythology. In this story the hero, Narcissus, becomes his own obsession. So much so, that he can no longer go on living with the fact that he is unable to love or touch his own image. To most this may seem a bit far fetched, but it also teaches a lesson. I could never imagine loving anything that much, including myself. On the other hand, I feel that a certain amount of self-love should be practiced.

By nature I am a self-interested person. Since I am self-interested, I must use educated controls to determine and rule out which advices I will and will not follow over my lifetime. My image is important to me, but it is not my obsession. Selective and educated perceptions are what guide my understanding of narcissism. If I were to completely remove narcissism from my lifestyle, I would compromise my most desired self-interests. So, I must instead use narcissism to control itself. Society, having narcissistic persona, has developed a dictatorship which influences the majority and the larger picture. Therefore, I feel I must comply with this narcissistic behavior to obtain other, more enlightened, values society can provide to me. Society can provide values which include, but are not limited to: employment, education, and success in the eyes of the whole; the same values which are important to my personal self-interests.

Self-interest, self-esteem, and self-love is vital to the success of any human on this massive planet. To a certain extent we all use status quo and societal influences to determine our rank. We all, myself included, are constantly
