The T-Shirt Business

Shirts for Katrina Relief

Goals:

* Collect donations from ten local businesses by October 31, 2005.

* Receive preorders for thirty t-shirts.

* Provide additional donations to the American Red Cross to assist in the Katrina Relief effort.

Products/Services Offered:

The first product being sold was advertisement space. The team was to work to gather one hundred dollars or more in donations from five to fifteen local businesses. In return for their donations we would be placing their company's logo/trademark on the back of a t-shirt for advertisement purposes. The second product being sold would be the t-shirts themselves. After collecting all the company's donations, we would collect preorders for the t-shirts ($10 each). The shirts were to be black and the front caption would say, "Together We Will Weather the Storm" in white lettering. The back of the shirt would be dedicated to the logos of the companies that supported and donated to the cause. All of the company donations as well as all profits gained from the sell of the t-shirts would go directly to the American Red Cross for Katrina Relief.

Competitive Analysis:

There is intense competition present in this first business attempt. Every aspect of the business has tight competition. First, we must compete with other charities vying for company funds. Second, there are several other on-campus organizations and activities
