What is abortion? Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth. Early in a pregnancy, the fertilized egg that grows and develops is called the embryo. After three months of development, it is usually called a fetus. An abortion causes the embryo or fetus to die. Abortion is such an inhumane thing to do. A baby is a human being from the point of conception, which has been scientifically proven. This should mean that the baby has basic human rights for example, the right to live. Another human being should not have the right to take away another person's life.
Arguments against abortion are based on the belief that an abortion is the unjustified killing of an unborn child. When people are thinking about abortion I think that they need to look into a child's eyes and think about it little bit harder and think if they could see that child dead, because that is how there child would be. Most people who oppose abortion believe that the human life begins as soon as the sperm fertilizes the woman's egg. Some believe that human embryos and fetuses have a legal right and that abortion is an actual form of murder.
The main purpose of abortion being immoral is how they are so viciously done Everyday, innocent, harmless fetuses are destroyed that some day could be a child laughing and playing. The procedures are so brutal that I couldn't think of ever doing that to an unborn child. Did you know that 18 days after conception, an EKG of the baby can be record a human heart. 40 days after conception, measurable waves of the child's brain can be found? Three months after conception the baby has legs and arms with the same fingerprints as it would have when it is grown. The Abortion procedure is horrific and horrible in itself. Suction aspiration, or "vacuum curettage," is the abortion technique used in most first trimester abortions. A powerful suction tube with a sharp cutting edge is inserted into the womb through the dilated cervix. The suction dismembers the body of the developing baby and tears the placenta from the wall of the uterus, sucking blood, amniotic fluid, placental tissue, and fetal parts into a collection bottle. If you think this is gross, there are many other forms of abortion. There is one called Partial-Birth Abortions. This is usually only done when the mother's life depends on it. This procedure is used to abort women who are 20 to 32 weeks pregnant or even later into pregnancy. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist reaches into the uterus, grabs the unborn baby's leg with forceps, and pulls the baby into the birth canal, except for the head, which is deliberately kept just inside the womb. At this point in a partial-birth abortion, the baby is alive. Then the abortionist jams scissors into the back of the baby's skull and spreads the tips of the scissors apart to enlarge the wound. After removing the scissors, a suction catheter is inserted into the skull and the baby's brains are sucked out. The collapsed head is then removed from the uterus. Just writing about it makes me sick, and to think people actually have this done.
There are other choices then abortion. There is always adoption. There are many people who want a baby and can not have one, who would love to have the baby. At least with adoption the baby will get the chance of a full and normal life, like every human being should. Also if the baby is being aborted on the basis that the woman cannot cope financially with the baby, there are many support groups she can contact which will fully support the baby and provide the mother with clothes, food and any other essentials the baby may need. With all these options available, I fail to see the need to kill an innocent human life and therefore feel abortion is a selfish immoral act. Some women aren't all that lucky and they are infertile or there husbands aren't able to have children, so I think that women that become pregnant and aren't ready or don't want children and are going to get an abortion should give
