As the newly designated director of the Academy for Leadership, an educational institution, my first point of attack would be the recruitment of new students. One of the assignments, who is the institution going to enroll as the first class under my supervision? There are a lot of questions that arise from the first inquiry fore mentioned.
The Academy of Leadership would enlighten the students on how an oligarchy government would be run, as argued by Plato in "The Republic". The countries influential powers would be decided through the status of families and society. These powers would only be past graduates of the Academy of Leadership. With this approach the countries best interest will always be number one priority. The students will learn an economic approach to maintaining peace and order within the country
Other topics that would be influenced into the students would be the argument of absolute poverty. As future leaders of a well functioning country in a world of constant change they would give back to their own countrymen in need of assistance. This is one of the main fundamentals instilled to the students. Assisting the weak and poor in the country will improve the economic stability of the country.
They would be taught to run a government in a world that is in constant strife, famine and war. Under the conditions of the world and the needs of the people it would be impeccable they were fully capable of leading an army, dispersing food and maintaining order. As an institution that educates the future leaders of the world, it is an important decision to carefully analyze and select the very best scholars. The selection process would be based on a number of different components to include family status, physical and mental aptitude, past loyalty to education. These are just a few of the conditions that would be required from the applicants.
First choice applicants would be from past alumni's offspring. The ethical reasoning for this decision is for the continuation of dominant power to control the country. The future leaders of the country would have first hand experience from there guardians. This in turns affects the outcome of actions taken by the student in future years. These students would be groomed to take courses in government leadership. Some examples of course work would be political issues, government finances, international relations, etc.
The second priority for acceptance to the Academy of Leadership would be the mental conditions of the applicant. Not all students have the ability to make decisions that affect the lives of many countrymen. It is imperative that the student have the mental stability to make sound business decisions. These students would be cultivated to become corporate execute officers and corporate mangers for the countries businesses. The course work for these students would be business management, corporate financing and corporate leadership.
The third criteria for applicants would be there physical aptitude to endure the pressures of a military. These applicants would have the same mental capacity of the second group. Unlike the previous group these students would have a physique able to handle the pressures of a war. These students would be trained to lead the countries military.
An alternative entrance to the institution would be awarded through a scholarship. The amount of student awarded this scholarship each year would be elected through the past alumni, the leaders of the country. The award would be based of past educational experiences and achievements. The student would be evaluated through the admissions process and classified into a curriculum at the institution.
Not all citizens of the country will be accepted in to the Academy of Leadership, most for unethical reasons. The goal of the institution is not to adhere to all the masses needs and wants at one given time. The obligation of the academy is to train and educate the future leaders of a country. These students will govern other countrymen not attending the institute.
