What Wallace line?

Alfred Russel Wallace was trained as a surveyor and an architect. A surveyor is a person who finds the measurement of dimensional relationships, as of horizontal distances, elevations, directions, and angles, on the earth's surface especially for use in locating property boundaries, construction layout, and mapmaking. An architect is a person who designs and supervises the construction of buildings or other large structures. Wallace created what is called the Wallace line. The Wallace line is a boundary running between the islands of the Malay Archipelago, between the oriental and Australasian faunal regions, many animals abundant on one side being absent on the other. Wallace seemed to stand up for what he believed and did something about it. He supported socialism, pacifism, land nationalization, and women's suffrage. His works include Contributions to the Theory of Natural Selection (1870), Geographical Distribution of Animals (1876), and Darwinism (1889).

He came up with this theory by taking all his observations and making an inference on how the evolution in this area took its course. He prepared for this by working with Darwin and his theory though both of them had came up with the same theory at the same time. Darwin's theory of Darwinism is a theory of the evolutionary mechanism as an explanation of organic change. Organic change is a mutation in an organism's physical feature.

Wallace's boundary explained more about evolution and the different kinds of evolution (organic, non-organic). Though his theory is not known well and seems not to be too important in today's world, it still supports Darwinism and is an exemplar of organic evolution. I think the boundary is important because it is an exemplar and explains organic evolution. I could apply this knowledge to my middle school student life by understanding that all people are different by culture, birth, and tradition.
