American and French Revolution

There are many similarities and differences between the French Revolution and the American Revolution. To begin with kings and queens had ruled the country of France. This led to some bad and good things throughout the history of France, But in America there were presidents during the new beginnings of the country.

The presidents were chosen by the people and debated about political issues that common people had problems with. There wasn t much room for women in either one of these societies. In France and America women could not vote. They were expected to do common tasks around the house like cook and clean. The revolutions of France and America were both started by the lower classes of the people. They both wanted more rights and liberty. This happened because the economy wasn t going well. In France people were put into groups and categorized by there social standing. 98% of the population was in the lower classes so they had more things to revolt about. In America the people lived in small separate colonies that could be controlled more easily but did not control them completely.

The main cause of the French revolution was because of higher taxes. This was caused by the king of that time period borrowing money from other countries but could not pay them back. This caused higher taxes so the money could be collected faster. A lot of people could get any food and were starving and that is when they decided to revolt until they got their way. Some causes of the American Revolution was not having liberty and all of the freedoms they wanted. The whole reason they came to America was to get away from British rules but the people did not have all that they wanted yet.

Then the constitution came into play for both countries. A group of selected people from America sat down to write the constitution until it was done. People told them what to write and not write in the newly formed constitution. A lot of John Locke s theories were put into the constitution as well. A similar thing happened in France but they formed what was called the National Assembly. They vowed to not leave until they were done with the constitution.
