  1. ANNE MULCAHY: Anne M. Mulcahy is former chairperson and Ceo of XEROX corp. she became CEO of Xerox on august 1 2001 and then become chairwomen on Jan 1 2002 Whereas as she was serving XEROX she also has been member of board of Citigroup Inc. and Target Corporation.

Mulcahy Joined Xerox as a sales representative in 1976, Between 1992-1996 Mulcahy was the vice president of human resource department then she became chief staff officer and then a corporate vice President in 1998 then she was selected as Board of director in 2001. When in the time of Crisis, she takes command, and make company more successful to prevent company from liquidation she cut down the workforce by 30% and Shut down the desktop portion of Xerox when she became the CEO the stock price was $8.25 whereas a year later when she became Chairwomen the price was $1.80 high compare to Last year and come up at $10.05.

Whereas she was appointed sixth in Most Powerful Women in America in 2005 and in 2009 she was ranked 15th as we can see she has a very good influence over the company.

I consider her as a leader because of her influence over the business market of America and she was chosen as a leader of the year many times.

  1. Role of Leader in Determining and developing the strategic objective and direction of an organization: Leader plays a vital role in determining and developing strategy in organization because Change is must for every organization growth and development without any change organization can also lead to solvency whereas introducing changes in organization is a one of the main responsibilities of a leader whereas to implement strategic goals and to develop them through the way of leadership we need to prioritize our objectives put resources at employees disposal whereas we need to Participate in all avenues of the strategic implementation.

To implement the change in organization we require a good leadership who can taught us how to implement new idea everyone should involve in the program otherwise its goal will be affected and we will be unable to achieve the goal. Because every person has its own task and he or she should achieve their task in the given time so there should be effective work done with an efficiency of time.

  • Strategic Objective Also Enhances Organizational efficiency and effectiveness:

Effectiveness of Organization: Organizational effectiveness can be defined as the efficiency with which an association can meet its objectives. This means an organization that produces a desired impact or a company that's productive while not waste. structure effectiveness is concerning everybody doing everything they skills to try to and doing it well; in alternative words, structure efficiency is that the capability of a company to provide the required results with a minimum expenditure of energy, time, money, and human and material resources. the required impact can rely on the goals of the organization, that can be, for instance, creating a profit by manufacturing and mercantilism a product. a company, if it operates, can manufacture a product while not waste. If the organization has each structure effectiveness and efficiency, it'll come through its goal of creating a profit by manufacturing and selling a product while not waste. In the business world, this may be referred to as maximizing profits.

Efficiency of Organization: Decisions that promote efficiency pretend to aim at reduce the consumption of resources through increasing the return. Whereas any action that taken to reduce inventory waste for example if we take example of XEROX when Anne Mulcahy joined the team the share prices was low and after she become CEO then Share price went to dramatic rise if we see at company economy it was near to solvency and Mulcahy hold the command and cut workforce to increase efficiency of company and take it to new level.

If we look at strategic decision we made whether they are pointed towards efficiency or effectiveness, the reason we do this because most management lean towards efficiency. If we look for the short-term objective, we can work effectively to achieve the goal faster but if it is for long term we need to look forward with both efficiently and effectively.
