Software or known as programs are divided into 2 components: application software and system software. Application software is software/programs that the user will utilize for their needs and system software is what the computer will utilize and set commands. Application software can be customizable to suit one's needs or packaged as a general purpose application. These types of application and examples of application software can be seen below:

Desktop Publishing (DTP): Used to control design and layout of documents

Graphics / Imaging: Used to produce a variety of images for use
