The case study 3-2 that was read involved Sperry/MacLennan Architects and Planners and how the company has changed from the beginning until the end. The company had some changes that came about that either put their company on the verge of losing operation or brought the company much profit. With come good thinking and decision making the operation stayed on top of their plans. The Canadian based company that specializes in recreational facilities is in the process along with one of its directors Mitch Brooks are developing a plan to export the companies services. Over the years the company has had their ups and downs and has branched out to give local attendance to the surrounding areas. They have also been visited by the licensing department and have been meeting all requirements during the aggressive growth period. Even though business with the company started to slowly decrease in the 1980's, the company had to do a major layoff to all the employees except the three remaining partners, Drew Sperry, Shelia Sperry and John MacLennan. The company had two employees who refused to leave and worked without pay for several months in good faith that the company would make a turn around. In 1983 Sperry won the competition for the aquatics facility for the Canadian Games to be played in Saint John, which gain recognition.
