Winning the War
An invasion can be defined as an attack by a certain force on a certain territory. Well, I can say that in terms of all the products out there, these "invasions" are truly nothing new anymore. With how products are developed nowadays, every individual is bombarded more and more by various goods available in the market and it is important that companies learn how to develop theirs in a way that it'll win not only the everyday battles, but the long-term war.
The article points out that due to the continued popularity of these Asian dishes, retailers are capitalizing on the growing number of Asians and the rising increase in the interest of mainstream consumers. I believe that this is relevant to me because I will be a manager in the near future, but more so, it is even more relevant now with the way I handle different things.
For instance, I am the Vice President for Internal Affairs of my organization and handling one of my "products", the Orientation Seminar, can be done in such a way that it focuses on tapping the interests of the batch of the applicants. Modifying this product of ours in a manner that it will still be successful while at the same time, it remains close to its roots, one of which is its objective of introducing my organization in its entirety is a trait that I should imbibe. I need to be able to adjust things in a manner that it is innovative with its traditions still intact.
It is also mentioned in the article that retailers have long known that the observance of the transition from the formal dining restaurant to the casual one to the deli is key to the strategy that they will employ. I believe that this is an important aspect that I should remember especially as I get older and get ready for more and more responsibilities. Having the ability to observe my environment (the market) clearly and correctly, and at the same time, being a first-mover will truly be beneficial to me as I strive to gain this "competitive advantage" in all the things that I do.
