ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We, Erika Jaye S. Inda, Kathryn R. Pabayo, and Sheena Faith V. Polluso, as the researchers, would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Almighty God for giving us the strength, patience, diligence and inspiration to finish this project.
The accomplishment of this learning would not have been possible moreover if not due to the subsequent persons who presented their assistance and their talents to us:
To our English II teacher, Mrs. Mary Jean P. Castro, who unreservedly guides us through this Research Paper writing. Indeed, she has helped us in so many ways;
To our classmates who have been very obliging and pleasant to us. We wouldn't be competent to get through each activity in English class without their abiding support and encouragement;
To Ms. Darling May Barcatan, for allowing us to do the consultation with her and because of that, we are proficient to accumulate more information. It has guided us through this paper work.
And of course, we would also like to pay tribute to our parents, who have always been compassionate.

A disturbing trend in college students' health is the reported increase in students' stress nationwide (Sax, 1997). Stressors affecting students can be categorized as academic, financial, time or health related, and self-imposed (Goodman, 1993). Academic stressors include the student's perception of the extensive knowledge base required and the perception of an inadequate time to develop it. (Carveth et. al., 1996). Students report experiencing academic stress resulting from taking and studying for exams, grade competition, and the large amount of content to master in a small amount of time (Abouserie, 1994).
Academic stress among college students has been a topic of interest for many years. College students experience high stress at predictable time each semester due to academic commitments, financial pressures, and lack of time management skills. When stress is perceived negatively or becomes excessive, it can affect both health and academic performance (Campbell & Svenson, 1992). University students often attempt to control and reduce their stress through avoidance, religious and social support, or positive reappraisal (Mattlin
