2. Explain how the following legal documents reinforced the dual nature of Canadian society.

a) The Quebec Act, 1774

b) The Act of Union, 1841.

Ð'* The Quebec Act legally recognized the Catholic Church, French civil law, and the seigniorial system in Quebec, which ensured Quebec and the French were given equal rights when it came to their religions and beliefs.
