The occurring issue of rape in the novel, A Time To Kill not only harms an innocent child, but makes others react in harsh ways. For example, her father goes out for revenge and kills the rapist out of anger. These are the statistics for rape victims of age 12 and over. As anyone could infer, these numbers are too high. But, they have began to decrease in about 2000. Hopefully, this means rape may become less of an issue. Over history, woman were always viewed as a possession of men, such as fathers or husbands.
