Baderman Island is a beautiful place where anyone can come and have a relaxing vacation. In today's economic times with proper planning, Baderman Island continues to thrive. Currently, the future development plans include increasing the size of all recreational activities by no less than 25 acres, doubling the size of the resort. Baderman Island will continue to evolve with the industry.
Baderman Island continues to review all aspects of the changing economy. Keeping costs at the lower end of competitiveness would bring more guests. At times, in order to bring in business, the owners and stockholders have to make a sacrifice to keep the investment alive.
"When it comes to practicing revenue management, hospitality organizations must keep one eye on the bottom line and one eye on their customers. Organizations need to carefully monitor their customers' reactions to price changes and be prepared to make adjustments as needed. For it is not only about the cost of acquiring and replacing these customers, it is about the perception of the organization within the marketplace. We have all stayed away from purchases that our friends told us were a rip-off. Conversely, we have often rushed to make purchases when our friends told us about the great deal they had just found. Remember that we stated that friends and family greatly influence consumer purchases. This is particularly true when it applies to the concept of perceived fairness" (Tranter, 2009, pg 225).
One of the action items for future development is a proposed casino. A casino will be bring in all types of people, and if ran properly and with style can be profitable no matter the class of guests. Transportation is also mentioned on future development. Guests who would be leasing a golf cart would expect it to run flawlessly, so the repairs mentioned in the memo do need to be addressed and vehicles/trolley's upgraded.
Technology is assisting the resort by bringing more guests to the island via an effective marketing plan on the internet and the partnership with international travel agents. The marketing plan's research reflects each hotel to fit the guests requirements, e.g., The Tenney is the high scale hotel on the property, Baderman Main Hotel is mid-class, and The Melancon Hotel is economy class. The island also offers five different restaurants that range from the inexpensive café to a fine dining experience and everything in-between.
Because many hotel operations are shifting to new technologies, hotel managers must have high computer proficiency. Baderman Island in an expansive property that could benefit from hotel service technology that coordinates the efforts of staff. Programs on iPads that allow housekeepers to automatically update the status of a room create a more efficient system. Technology like this would increase communication among staff at Baderman Island Resort and improve guest service.
