This paper will spotlight on the domestic framework of the Bead Bar. The Bead Bar is a company that facilitates its customers to produce their own jewelry by using tools such as wire, beads, and string. Presently, there are three divisions of the company composed of one studio, two franchises, and three Bead Bars on Board. The role of the Bead Bar studio is to handle the Bead Bar six studios that are located in (2) New York City, Long Island, Boston, Washington, D.C., and the flagship in New Canaan, Connecticut. The franchise division has the accountability of selling beading materials to stores that wish to open their personal studio location. The franchise locations are located in Los Angeles, Kansas City, Chicago, Seattle, and Miami. The Bead Bar on Board is a portable Bead Bar designed especially for cruise ships. The company is comprised of 15 full-time employees and 20 part-time employees.
The Bead Bar has resisted with their business due to not adopting up to date technology. Management at the Bead Bar decided to improve their business. Efficiency has been a serious problem for Bead Bar as the systems that were in use were not efficient enough to take benefit of many opportunities in the business world. We will mainly focus on the current technology in place, and confer the Bead Bar's basic IT needs. Since the Bead Bar has several locations throughout the United States, a strong networking infrastructure is vital to maintain internal communication and external communication with stores and franchise locations. Effective recommendations will be made for the network architecture of the Bead Bar and we will examine the pros and cons of the recommendations.
