Shareholders of Comverse Technology (NASDAQ: CMVT, BullBoards) might be running out of options. Comverse is a provider of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communications services.
On March 14, 2006, before trading opened, Comverse Technology disclosed: 1) the creation of a special committee of its Board of Directors to review matters relating to the company's stock option grants, including, but not limited to, the accuracy of the stated dates of option grants and whether all proper corporate procedures were followed; and 2) that management believes that certain restatements will likely be required.
Converse Technology's shares plummeted on this news and it appears investors who purchased the stock between May 5, 2005, and March 13, 2006, are affected.
