Belle, Beast, Blandford

Despite his temptation, Lt.Blandford follows his heart to the women he truly loves. “He squared his shoulders, saluted, and held the book out toward the women, although even while he spoke he felt the bitterness of his disappointment”(Kishor 4).Blandford is royal to Hollis Maynell, even though he longs for the women in green suit. Blandford proves that he does not place as much importance on look as personality, rather he care for Hollis Maynell. Although he does not desire a romantic relationship with the women he believes to Miss Maynell. Blandford does value their friendship above the fantasy of the women in green suit.

After Lt. Blandford chooses the older women he believes to be Hollis Maynell, he learn that the older women is not who he think she is, she informs Blandford that the true Miss Maynell is the beautiful women waiting for him across the street. Blandford has been tested by Hollis Maynell and he passed the test. Blandford’s integrity of choosing the women he loves even thought its really tempting to choose the women in green suit and abandon the women he believes he has been reciprocating with. Blandford does not hesistate to pick. In the end he passed the test, receiving the ultimate award, Blandford had true love on Hollis Maynell, which is not about appearence, but the innermost personality.

In the film Beauty And The Beast, Belle makes a commitment to stay with the Beast forever, despite his coarse and sometimes violent behavior, and her desire to experience life outside the castle. Belle’s father lost his horse and his invention in a skirmish with the wolves. Belle’s father wander and enters a gloomy castle, which then he encountered the Beast that dwells in the castle. The Beast captured Belle’s father and took him as prisoner. Belle discovered that her father has been imprisoned by the beast, she propose to imprison her as an exchange for her father’s freedom (Disney). Belle does not care how ugly and terrifying the Beast looks, she wanted to save her father. Despite her father’s old age, her desire for freedom and the terrifying Beast, Belle is willing to sacrifice herself to save her father. She has a great solicitude for her love ones. Also, the petulent Beast unreveals his sweet and strong side when Belle was attack by the wolves when she was attempting to escape the castle. The Beast protected Belle from the attack, but the Beast is injured. Although the Beast is terrifying, he still has a side where he arise and use his fearful appearance and strength as an advantage to rescue and subside the havoc. Belle learned that the Beast was not that dreadful after all. They conciliated with each other and slowly, they generates affection for eatch other, which would induce to love. Belle replaced his father as the Beast’s prisoner when she tries to run away, and was on the verge of death, the Beast showed up to save her. Even though he looks terrifying and was wicked to seperate a daughter from her father, the Beast do have a kind side to his personality.

There are similarities between the movie Beauty And The Beast and the story “The Test” relating to the Theme
