1. Introduction

1.1. Why we choose the tropic

Beximco pharmaceuticals Ltd (Beximco pharma) is a leading pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. They are leading with various products and service. As it is a practical scenario of a company’s dividend policy we found Beximco pharma as a better option because they regularly published their annual report, audited report and they are the industry leader. So if we analyze on this company we think we will be able to understand what should be practical implication of dividend policy in a company.

1.2. Objective of the study

The core objective of this report is to illustrate the present policy of dividend in Beximco pharma. But there are some specific objective of this report also.

1.2.1. Specific objectives:

 To have a clear view about what is actually happening in the area of dividend policy in the selected business company

 To relate the theoretical knowledge with practical

 To have an analysis on Dividend policy of Beximco pharma

 Identify existence issues of Dividend policy and lack of process that will facilitate the proper practices of Dividend policy

1.3. Methodology

This is qualitative research as I had to collection information from different kinds of newspaper, annual report, and news from DSE (Dhaka Stock Exchange) to create the whole report. It presents study area, techniques of data collection, limitation and sources of data and so on. These are whole procedure of the research work.

1.3.1. Research design

As we mentioned earlier this report is a described one along with some information. This report mainly focus on the dividend policy on the selected company. This report contains an overview of Beximco pharmaceuticals Ltd, the financial performance of the organization and finally, the paid out dividends were analyzed in contrast to some other financial indicators and which type of dividend policy they followed.

One types of data source we have used.

1.3.2.1. Secondary data

 Annual Reports

 Audited financial statements

 Dhaka Stock Exchange

1.3.3. Data collection

We discussed with experts who have vast knowledge about the dividend policy, organization and report making model

From the whole data and information we collected, we can assume some point from some prospection

1.3.5. Limitations of the study

 Some information required to prepare this report were not found in annual reports or websites.

 Though, there are available resources to know about the products of this company but no or very few written documents are available for the operating procedures. Hence a scarcity of secondary sources prevailed in this case.

 Published information is not up to date

 As the report has to be submitted within 15-20 days duration of the semester. Hence some parts are discussed very briefly.

1.3.6. Report preview:

I use direct writing style to make the report. Because maximum people will be able to understand the tropic if we maintain direct writing style. Normally reports used to written direct writing styles. We think if we make the report in direct writing style then it will be more successful communication that we want to do.
