Blessing-
I have learned many life-long lessons outside the walls of my classrooms. Setting goals is a huge part of being successful. I set a goal to be the best soccer play at my school, and it happened. I set a goal to maintain a 4.00 GPA over my high school years, and it happened. I made it a priority in my life to set goals and reach for great things, whether that is in a classroom or not. This mindset has set me in the direction of success.
Playing sports has taught me so much in life. I was the captain of my high school team and learned many lessons. Many of my teammates had no desire to win or give their best; I saw this and would get very upset. I see no point in doing anything in life without giving all I have. Satisfaction comes from leaving everything I have on the field and knowing I did all I could. Leading in a sport is connected with leading in all aspects of life. Leaders do what is needed, they don’t watch someone else step up and finish the task. I bring this value to college and every other area of my life.
Honesty is one more value which I bring to a college. Integrity is getting harder to find every day. If I work hard, never cheat, and never steal, I can go much further than most. My family, my religion, and my personal values have led me to be an honest young man. Employers want honest leaders to run companies; just as colleges want smart, honest students to be in every classroom.
Leading, while setting goals and being truthful, is the thing I value most. I want to always help others in need. I love to give to the poor and work hard in life. I know being apart of National Honors Society and FCCLA has taught me how to serve others. I am so thankful for how blessed I am. I hope I am blessed to be a blessing.
