General Reaction: I was particularly amazed with the absence of the audience. Jazz music is a very likeable musical preference. The jazz musical recital was given at 1 o'clock during dead hour, so I was expecting a full house. The absence of the audience made the concert kind of dull and lifeless, which changed my mood for the concert. I prefer jazz music over classical music, and I can honestly say I enjoyed the classical performance better. The excitement just wasn't there.

Composition I like best: The compositions that I enjoyed the most were C-Jam Blues by: Duke Ellington (1899-1974), a jazz piece in a very medium tempo. C-Jam Blues was created in 1941 during the twentieth century. The jazz piece was created in a party treatment. The trombone player in this particular composition was our very own Jeffrey Killins, he was astonishing. This particular composition was very familiar because it was on the musical selection list for the first test. I also enjoyed the composition Don't mean a thing- arranged by: Boumpani, another jazz piece in a medium tempo. This jazz composition was composed by Irving Mills and Duke Ellington. I think Duke Ellington is a great choice for a saxophone quartet. It reminds me of my first experience at a swing dance club. The last composition I particularly enjoyed is My funny valentine by: Lorenz Hart and music composed by Richard Rodgers, in a slow moderate tempo. This jazz piece was created in 1937, during the twentieth century. My funny valentine first appeared in the musical theater production of Babes in Arms. It's a memory of my favorite valentines day experience.

Performance of this work: On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give this performance a 6. Because the jazz concert was only forty-five minutes long, the composers were unorganized and the audience was very thin. But on the reverse side the composers elected a great musical selection. But if I was a new comer of jazz music, this concert couldn't persuade me to attend another.
