his play begins in a bizarre forest in the highlands of Scotland where two huntsmen from New York, Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, are lost and can't find their way back. All of a sudden they here a lovely melody and follow it. The melody took them to a road and if there is a road there's a town nearby so they investigate where it leads them. While there trying to find the town, the townspeople in Brigadoon are talking and selling groceries and clothes to each other. Tommy's and Jeff's first impression they had when they found Brigadoon was being puzzled. They began talking to the townspeople to tell them how strange there ways are, but they say that there the weird ones from how they dress and look. During that time, Tommy and Jeff hear that Charlie and Jean are getting married, but Harry opposes on the wedding because he loves Jean and says that if he doesn't have her what is to live for and begins to hate Brigadoon. Tommy and Jeff began to get tired and decided to stay in Brigadoon for a few hours. Later Fiona talks about one day she would meet her love one, and Charlie sings on how much he can't wait living with Jean. Fiona invites Tommy to come with her to get some stuff and they realize that they are beginning to like each other. Meanwhile, Meg took Jeff to her cabin and Meg is starting to be attracted to Jeff, but he doesn't like her. Actually he thinks she is really annoying. Meg talks about all the men she wanted to marry and it didn't work out with any of them.

In Mr. Maclaren's house Jean was getting ready to get married and all the townswomen are helping her get prepared. Charlie was anxious to talk to her again but he couldn't its considered bad luck so he sang a love song to her. Then Tommy and Fiona came in the house and kissed then Fiona went to go help her sister. Then Tommy and Fiona sang a song about almost being in love. Then Jeff came and Tommy and Jeff found a diary and they were very puzzled on the dates and asked Fiona what it meant, and she said she can't talk about it but Mr. Lundie. They walked to his cabin and he was greeting them and was willing to tell them about The Miracle. He said that it started 200 years ago where witches and wizards were around and a war was going to happen to Brigadoon. Mr. Foreside (I think that's his name) prayed to God for a miracle which was that every time they sleep at night they actually sleep for a hundred years and no one saw Mr. Foreside ever again. Tommy asks can he stay with Fiona, and the response was if its love anything can be possible. Then
