Introduction

In this paper, I will discuss information gathering that analyzes a business project I just started. The business is an internet web site that will allow customers to study and practice for military enlisted promotion tests. To make this happen I will use Business Systems Analysis tools to help me develop my business project. First, I will discuss the systems investigation techniques that I will use in my project. Next, I will cover which analyst's channels of information I will use. Third, I will use a requirements determination, and then evaluate procedures to help make the project a success utilizing concepts from Business Process Re-engineering (BPR). Finally, I will close with a summary.

As suggested in the text Introduction to Business Systems Analyses (2002, pp. 73-82) first, I will perform interviews with possible customers to gather customer needs. Second, I will use my current, past observations and experience to design the product to exceed customer requirements. Third, I will measure customer needs from past data, and from the use of similar products customers currently use. In the next step I will discuss how the product should work.

Requirements Determination

As mentioned in the text Introduction to Business Systems Analyses (2002, pp. 87-99) I will use the requirements determination to ensure the product is viable. I will use the information from systems investigation techniques and analyst's channels of information to build on the requirements determination on how the product will work and provide what the customer wants. Now let us evaluate the current status using BPR.

Project Evaluation using Business Process Re-engineering

Using information from Business Process Re-engineering, Unit 1, Workflow Management Pt 1(NETg). I will use system analysis for business systems for indications of success. As suggested I have implemented the following techniques: set an aggressive re-engineering performance target when needed. Ensure management is positively involved in BPR. Conduct review of customer's needs, economic leverage points, and market trends. Conduct a comprehensive pilot implementation
