“Building Students Minds”
I do not think P.e should be a requirement here at our school.. Kids are forced to take it and do nothing the whole 40 minutes. Some kids are not good at sports. Kids simply don’t even try.
The kids that are forced to take P.e even when they do not want to are wasting forty minutes. During that forty minutes they could be taking a different class for credits, or as a study hall to get work done. Those kids who are taking P.e and do not like it, could be failing a more important class that could affect their Gpa.
Some kids are just not good at sports. Most of the activities we do in P.e are sports related hitting, kicking, or even actual sports. Kids who are bad usually do not participate because they know they are bad so then they get a bad grade. Kids even get made fun of for not being good at a P.e game, which is just a aspect of a sport.
There are some kids who simply just do not try. They will just stand in the field or miss the ball on purpose. That ruins it for the kids who do wanna play. The kids who do wanna play get annoyed with the kids who stand there. The kids who do not wanna play could also be in the way or get out for the people who do wanna play. People say we need P.e to control obesity, but if the kids do not try, that will have no bearing on weight loss.
I do not think P.e should be a requirement here at our school. Kids are forced to take it and do nothing the whole 40 minutes. Some kids are not good at sports. Kids simply don’t even try. Schools’ jobs are for building students minds and enriching their knowledge not worrying about sports.
