Cancer is a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in part of the body causing tumors. It depends on what type of cancer someone has, to know what part of the body it will affect. Cancer can start out by affecting a certain area and then spread over time, but with chemotherapy they can slow the rate at which the cancer spreads.

One type of cancer is thyroid cancer, your thyroid is in the front part of your neck and produces hormones that regulate the way your body uses energy and that help your body work and function like normal. Thyroid cancer is an uncommon type and most people who develop catch the cancer early on and are able to use effective ways of treatment. Bt even after treatment there is a high likelihood of the cancer coming back years later.

This type of cancer is unknown to its cause, but experts believe its like other cancers and changes in DNA of your cells may play a role. These DNA changes can occur through genetics or of just getting older. Being exposed to great amounts of radiation can cause this cancer or be a helping factor, dental X-rays will not increase the chance of getting this but radiation treatment to your head, neck, or chest may.

Symptoms of this cancer may be getting a lump or swelling in your neck, pain in the neck or ears, trouble swallowing, trouble breathing or wheezing, voice may be hoarse, and frequent coughing.

Another type of cancer is breast cancer which is very well known with many different types of fundraisers.
