1. Since Michael A. Todman is the president of Whirlpool he was able to be successful with leading his organization to the way he wanted it in the crisis that was happening. The qualities that Todman shows have prove that he can be a successful leader globally. For example, one of the qualitative that he has is the ability to be a strong problem solver, which has helped his organization out a lot. He also has the ability to be very influential to his employees and encourage them to think outside the box.

2.Three leadership roles that Todman emphasizes as a president of Whirlpool, International coaching and motivator, figurehead, and strategic planner.Jimmy Badger is definitely assertive because he cares about having the parking lot clean. A person that is assertive does not have an issues will expressing their demands, opinions, feelings, and attitudes (pg44). In this case Badger did not have an issues with expressing his demands. He also seems to be authentic because he sticks to his principles and what he expects from his employees. He does not have a problem with communicating and be truly honest with employees. He still have the mind of the military officer because he sets high standards for his store. He is also well driven to the achievements which reflected off of the high standards that he has for the store.

I do not know what it is meant by this question

Jimmy should modify his leadership approach to the extent where he should not expect so highly of standards from the performance of his employees. This will pressure them to do improve more which may break the employees down because they are trying to hard. On the other hand the top management retail chain might like what is Jimmy is doing to accomplish his goals and wants him to continue with it.

I think the home improvement store’s positive bias toward the former military officers is very respectful. The discipline and teamwork that is developed for the former military officers was necessary needed for the store. On the other hand, people with different types of experience should not be exempt from situations because if they are exempt they will be considered being discriminated against.
