Art echoes in the houses of worship throughout the world. Who has not watched the kaleidoscope of pigments dance on the walls of any church on a crisp morning through the divine stained glass? Who has not marveled at the legendary Sistine Chapel that famous artists from the 15th century created? Michelangelo is one of the most celebrated artists in the world. He left his mark on the world by making millions look up at his breathtaking scene in the Sistine Chapel, where Adam reaches to touch God's index finger. Among impressionist artists, Vincent van Gogh is by far the most renowned. With his self-portrait and Starry Night, he has inspired the world to think outside of the box, and to appreciate non-traditionalism.

The structures and styles of buildings and statues complement and inspire peoples' lives. Everyone dreams of one day visiting Egypt's Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, the only seven wonder of the ancient world still standing. Equally important in archaic architecture and elaborate engineering is the ancient Roman Coliseum where so many people and animals unwillingly sacrificed their lives, while 50,000 people watched. Another common place for Americans to want to visit is the infamous Statue of Liberty, given as a gift to us by the generous French. Whether it is famous sculptures such as the Thinking Man or Michelangelo's David, clay, steel, and mud have made every person's life easier and more beautiful.

Art whispers in people's ears through poetry, novels, biographies, and essays. The ultimate controversial work of art is The Bible. Millions have questioned its credibility, but most importantly, it is the boldest piece of literature ever to be written. Everyone has an opinion regarding it, and that is what makes it so argumentative and powerful. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl has made known to everyone in the world the brutalities the Jews, homosexuals, and disabled suffered during the Holocaust of World War II. Thirteen year-old Anne Frank's words changed everything. Coming from the viewpoint of a child, people discovered the animosity and horrors of war and prejudice.

Art screams at everyone, "LOOK AT ME! NOTICE ME! LOVE ME! HATE ME! CELEBRATE ME!"
