Our dependency on cell phones

Composition I

We all have one "a cell Phone" but do we really need them. Cell phones now come in all shapes, sizes, colors and are equipped with all sorts of capabilities. You can choose from BlackBerry's, Androids I Phones, and so many more. Whether you purchase your phone for business or personal use, cell phones now have the capability to conference in for company calls, you can use it for social networking, and view important documents, even send online faxes. You can also reply to urgent email messages while you are on a vacation. You can capture every moment of your baby's development with a few camera shots every day. So can all this make you more dependent on your cell phone?

I find myself through the day reaching for my cell phone to pay bills or just to call a friend and say hi. Many times cell phones are the only way that we can communicate with our friends and family. Many times it's the only way that young teenagers will even communicate with their parents. I know this because my niece will not come out of her room just to "talk" with her mother she would rather text her.

Many people use their phones for different things; some have cell phones for the purpose of only using them when they have an emergency. Other people may use their phones to do business. Business people have their phones with them all the time maybe not every minute of every day but for most of the day they have it. This is because most of their business is conducted over the phone with meetings, interviews and personal business. But not only is it business men and women that use their phones daily many doctors are also very dependent on their phones do to the fact that they are constantly need for their patients, many patients may need emergency surgery and how will the hospital reach them if not through their cell phones.

There are also many other reasons people are dependent on their cell phones. The average house hold has young teenagers and with teenagers comes cell phones. Many parents purchase cell phones for their children so to keep in touch at all times. It gives parents a sense of security knowing that their children are reachable with the dial of the phone. I know that with my niece she has volleyball practice and basketball and track all she has
