Central and Western Europe

Central and western Europe are tied together and separated in many different ways throughout the Roman Empire. The two parts of Europe come together through religion and other things but were also separated by political views. Central and Western Europe are similar in ways such as religion and agriculture, but are different in politics.

Central and western Europe were similar in religion. Both parts of Europe practiced Catholicism. Europe was ruled by the church for many years, and the church had all the power. This similarity most likely occurred because they did not have a strong leader and needed somebody to lead them. These two parts were also alike in the practice of monotheism. Along with the catholic religion comes the thought that there is only one god. But they differed in the type of Catholicism. The western part practiced Roman Catholicism, while the central part practiced more of a Christianity side.

The two parts of Europe were also alike in terms of agriculture. Central and western Europe both used many different types of agriculture. One particular system the used was the three field system. They may have used this so that in one field the soil was always fertile. They also came up with a new cattle prod that would not choke the animal using it. This device allowed the animals to last longer and create more fertile land. They also created a new plow. This plow went deep into the ground and created better soil.

Their politics were different. Western Europe relied more on one central leader. They relied on this one leader so that this person would take care of them. This could have been because they wanted somebody else to lead them. Meanwhile, central Europe relied more on city state governments. They did this because the people wanted more power and in this they had more power.
