Child Abuse
We can ask ourselves the question over and over, "why are innocent children being abused?" We may never get a good enough answer. Children of all ages are defenseless no matter what way you look at the situation. Even at the ages 13 or 14, these children can't take on the strength of an older man or woman. Children all over the world are not just suffering from physical abuse, but more so from neglect.
Between the years 1997 and 2001, a national report showed 48% of abuse was neglect. (Ramirez) What is neglect? Let's start with the word abandon. I' am not so sure anybody really wants to understand.
Physical abuse, it's everywhere, and sometimes ends up in the death of an innocent child. Okay so I understand not all children are easy to handle, but there is a huge difference between spanking and beating a child. A few weeks ago here in San Antonio there was a case of horrible abuse. A mother of two children (14 month old Sariyah Garcia, and 4 month old Sebastian Lopez) was charged of capital murder. The two children were found in trash bags underneath their house. (Martinez) Now what are her reasons? Well let's start off by saying one of the babies was crying so she thought it was okay to beat the child to death so it would
