Should a man whose actions created a wave of genocide and killed thousands of innocent natives be considered a hero? Christopher Columbus found the Americas, but today he takes credit for discovering a new world. Native Americans had been living in civilizations across North and South America long before Columbus had "discovered" it. This journey has now ruined many of those cultivations as well as the citizens. With his expedition, he exposed countries to new disease, violence, and slavery. His greed led him to deprive America of its natives and its resources. These horrible monstrosities should be added to Columbus's reputation, which shows him to be a villain in American history.
