Old Dominion University is one of Virginia's premier doctoral-granting institutions of higher education. They offer cutting-edge research and exciting opportunities for learning in an international, diverse, people-centered, metropolitan atmosphere. They have a beautiful campus, which features the latest technological advances. Out of all the colleges that I considered applying for, ODU is my number one choice.
My name is John Smith and I am a senior at Westfield Senior High School. I have a GPA of 3.02 and have been taking college prep classes since my freshmen year. I've also participated in the Westfield Football Program. I was on the Freshman Football Team my freshmen year and played wide receiver and cornerback. I also played wide receiver and cornerback my sophomore on the Junior Varsity Football Team. I got moved to running back and played that and cornerback my Junior and Senior year on the Varsity Football Team. I was also on the Senior Homecoming Court of 2005.
I would like to go to Old Dominion University because I known I would be a vital student on your campus. I know that college is a once and a lifetime chance, so I would participate in everything I could from the French Club to the Wrestling team. I also heard that in 2008 Old Dominion will be starting a football team. Well, I have a tremendous background in the sport of football, and would be a good member of the team if this would occur.
If I was accepted into Old Dominion University, I would major in Engineering. Old Dominion is a great school for engineering, that's why I would be so proud to attend that school. I excel in the subjects of Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and History. All the subjects you need to be good at to be a successful engineer. I would like to minor in Sports Marketing because there is a lot of money in the Sports Marketing business. My goal in life is to become a successful man and raise a wonderful family. I also want to be financially stable when I graduate from college. And for me to reach these goals I need to become a student at the Old Dominion University, "The College of the future."
