Values are obtained from one's family, school, and religion. Values are important to managers because an understanding of one's personal values is useful for time management. Identifying and focusing on our personal values helps us become successful. My personal values are patience, creativity, dedication, and adaptability.

Patience pays off in many unexpected ways; some of which can be predictable, while others are simply not. When we are faced with difficult challenges, patience is a very important virtue that can allow us to see new possibilities. One might miss the opportunities if he or she just blindly and carelessly rushes through processes. Also, it is indeed very important in the corporate world to wait for the right things to come to you, rather than playing some dirty politics and hurting someone just so you can acquire certain things. Furthermore, patience can be real life saver. It does happen that one gets so caught up in his own greed for more and more praise and appraisals so much that he hastily finishes assignments, with the hope of coming across as extraordinarily respectful toward deadlines, but only ends up producing substandard works over a period of time. If such a person could just sit back and be patient by waiting for the right assignment to be given to him, and be even more patient to allow that assignment to develop at an optimum pace, then all of his efforts would have been fruitful. After all, even the earliest bird waits a while for the juiciest worm before making a catch.

Creativity is also very important in today's world. Nowadays, due to a very competitive market, an organization needs the desire to have new ideas, solutions to problems, improvements in products and procedures, designs to things or plans, and to be first to innovate or create. So one should be able to produce useful ideas that should be beneficial to the organization first, and then to them. Benefits to them could be in terms of promotion, higher pay or incentives. As per ethics, they shouldn't copy the ideas from somebody or modify their ideas because that would definitely be seen as plagiarism: something which is gravely looked down upon in many fields across the world, both creative and non-creative. They should also be capable enough to produce their own ideas which can be useful for the society and, if possible, the world too.
