Communication plays a very important role in today's society, being that it is the "social interaction through messages". These "messages" can be achieved through the eight mass media's, which include books, magazines, newspapers, radio, recorded music, movies, television, and the internet. Many people, absorb many different things from the eight mass media's in todayƐ''s world. I would be one of those millions who has a different perspective on each of them.

My consumptions of these media's and what I get from each of them range far and wide. When I read magazines articles it greatly differs from when I read articles typed on the internet. In a month's time I read approximately 5 magazines, if you don't include the tabloids. Ebony and Jet are the names of these magazines, and are basically African American consumer driven. The last article I read was called "A Wild Ride with Ludacris" in the October 2005 issue of Ebony. That article was about his career and how it's changing for the better, with him doing movies and all. More so about him being richer than rich, and how he has influenced our youth in so many positive ways today. written has made the internet more interesting for me. Thus, resulting in me using the web more often. When I go on I usually check out the website world news.com. I like to keep up with what's going on around me in the American and other nations societies today. I usually do this on my free time in the evening hours during the week or on the weekend in the morning with a cup of coffee. What I get from the magazines ,the internet, and all the other mass media's is that they all incorporate their first amendment right "FREEDOM OF SPEECH". They provide comfort to the public in knowing that we will all be provided with the knowledge of what's going on whether it be through writing or music or fiction works in the movie we can all relate to it somehow.

I can recall when I was younger I would hear people say they had to go in their office as they walked into the bathroom with a book in their hand or when they took a shower having to put the radio on full blast and sing along to the tunes at the top of their lungs. These are some of the
