My mother has had an extremely positive influence in my life. She has molded and me into the person that I am today. From watching her I learned many important things about life, including how to be a honest person. My mother was always honest with me and encouraged me to always be honest with others. As a child I often watched an imitated my mother in the things that she did especially when she was cooking or doing the laundry. When I was younger I wanted to be just like her yet over the years she taught me how to be an independent person, think for myself and be original. She often encouraged me to explore all possibilities, keep trying until I found what made me happy. From her positive influence I was able to succeed in school and many other things.
There have not been many negative influence in my life from family friends or the media. As a child my friend s and I seemed to get into our fair share of trouble, however I believe that was do more to kids being kids. Testing the water and trying to explore their identity. If anything we all had a part in being a negative influence on each other, no more than the usual peer pressure to do what we think is "cool" and not necessarily what is the right thing to do. My overwhelmingly positive upbringing and focus on being an individual kept me from falling into the masses or following others into the wrong things. The media often portrays negativity as cool and therefore it causes young children to follow, thankfully I did not fall victim to those images.
