Computer Artificial Intelligence

The titles of the articles are "The future of software from precision engineering to gardening" by Andrew Zolli, "ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE... If I only had a brain" by Richard Kadrey, and "Quantum and Biochemical computing... beyond silicon" by Richard Kadrey. The first article called the future of software is about how software programs have gotten very complex from when they first were written and that programmers are trying to come out with a new way of programming. The artificial intelligence article talks about what artificial intelligence is, what kinds of applications we use them on and the future of it. Finally the third article is about using quantum and biochemical computing to find DNA information and that the use of the two have helped us discover ways of using new technology like nanotechnology.

In the first article we learn that human efforts in writing better and more complex programs has become a demand. But with better and bigger programs comes more debugging and problems. One thing that has help aid in better coding and programs are open source. Open source the original coding of the program and is free to everyone that would like to look at and modify. The next big step is an entirely new paradigm called genetic programming. This is the use of software to write software programs by getting the end results from the user and the computing the program for it. In the second article we find out that artificial intelligence is used a lot more then we realizes from voice-recognition software to taking airline reservations. The future of AI is to use it to work with humans and work with us. The project called Cyc is the brainchild of computer scientist Douglas B. Lenat. It is a system that has learned 1.37 million discrete ideas including names, descriptions, root words, and abstract concepts. It finds the answer by normal conversation. You tell it the information and it computes what the answer should be. Also cyc system is funded by DARPA. The first real machine to conversations with human was back in 1966 called Eliza. There a other types of artificial intelligence one being the chatbots. Which you type anything into and it computes a smart answer to your question. In the future of AI we well see more human like interventions to interact with humans. The finally article is how quantum and biochemical computing has gone beyond what people in the 50's thought it would do for
