Confucian Essay
I have experienced three years of chinese education. As a class we have been on a total of three field trips to various museums, institutes, and restaurants. I have learned many lessons about the way chinese people value their artistic abilities, make exquisite dishes for all to enjoy, and live their daily lives. These trips have helped me experience way that chinese people live. In this essay, I hope to educate the reader on my experience in learning the language and history of China.
The first trip we took as a class was in seventh grade. We took a trip to a chinese museum. At this museum, we saw many chinese paintings and other forms of art. The trip was very interesting. I was fascinated by all of the art that was there. There were many different paintings that were specialized to chinese culture. After the museum, we made our way to a restaurant called the Orient. The food was exquisite. I am very glad I went on this trip. Also, my mom came with me on this trip. She was extremely satisfied with both the museum and the food at the restaurant, as was I. It was a great time to go on this trip with my friends and classmates. I was very thrilled after learning about the art and food of the chinese people while on this field trip with my class.
The second trip I took was in eighth grade. I was also very pleased with this trip. On this trip we went to Chinatown in New York City. I really enjoyed walking around in the streets with my classmates. As a class we went to another museum. At this museum, we saw tons of art from China. The most astonishing piece of art in the museum in my personal opinion was a huge dragon that was hanging from the ceiling. We also learned about the history of China. We learned a lot about the role that chinese immigrants played in the United States. After the museum, we went to an authentic chinese restaurant. This was the first time I had ever been to a restaurant like this. It was strange to see waiters and waitresses walking around with carts and serving us. I soon began to realize that almost all restaurants in China are most likely similar to this. At this restaurant, we had may authentic chinese dishes. My favorite dish was chinese pork buns, or cha shao bao. It tasted incredible. We also tasted different chinese desserts. I really enjoyed this field trip.
The third trip I went on was this year in my freshman year
