Answer.  The project estimated to be complete from 01/04/2010 to 02/02/2012.

  1. How long will the project take?

Answer.  The project will take 530 days for completion.

  1. What is the critical path(s) for the project?

Answer.  The critical path is also known as longest path of the project.

 The critical path includes architectural decisions,  hardware specifications,  hardware design,  hardware documentation, integration first phase,  serial I/O drivers,  system hard/software test,  network interface,  and integration acceptance testing.

  1. Which activity has the greatest amount of slack?

Answer.  According to Gantt Chart Schedule ‘Utilities Documentation’ is showing the greatest amount of slack.

  1. Identify two sensible milestones and explain your choices.

Answer.  Out of all Integration first phase is the first sensible milestone because before integration first phase task, six tasks need to be finish before it starts. And the second sensible milestone should be start after System hardware/software test because when the system hardware/software test is going to be complete then only four other tasks may be started. These both milestones are a part of critical path; these can extend the project if not completed in time.

  1. Compare and describe the advantages/disadvantages of displaying the schedule as a network versus a Gantt chart.

Answer.  

  • Gantt chart Advantages:
  • They can be linked with the schedule of project.
  • Can be utilizing to track the project progress against its plan.
  • They find project network coupled with schedule.
  • Easy to read and comprehend.
  • They allow project control and updating.
  • Useful for assigning task resources.
  • Simple to create.
  • Disadvantages:
  • If we try to view too much detail in one time it becomes overcrowded.
  • At the point when tasks have an excess of reliance connections' the reliance lines get to be powerful.
  • Make the Gantt chart not all that simple to utilize.

  • Advantages of Network Diagram:
  • It’s simple to see the format of the task.
  • We can see begin, ending, resource, length of time, and uniqueness in an organised way.
  • Easy to see critical path.

Disadvantages:

  • It  does not indicate ES( early start), EF (early finish), LS (late start), LF(late finish) and each task slack.
  • It very hard to see in one single screen having large amount of tasks.
