TOPIC B Ð'- PERSONAL ESSAY
One experience that significantly influenced my academic interest is a Multimedia course that I have taken. This course gave me a better taste for computers. I learned how to produce web sites and learned various computer languages. This led to an interest in computer science, which I will pursue a career in.
This course truly began to spark my interest in computers. As a machine or tool, when manipulated it can perform both creative and technical tasks. This experience made me realize how powerful a machine is. Computers may be the focus of all future technological advances. Advances in computer technology continue to grow constantly and at a very fast pace, hence the learning curve continues to grow with it. There is always something new to learn in the computer technology field.
My goal is to work in a field that allows for creative pursuits. Computer science allows for this type of dynamic endeavor, because the computer as a machine itself is a very rational and technical thing. The functions that it provides could also be quite artistic. Secondly, most technological research and breakthroughs in the future will involve computers in some way. My goal is to be involved with something that is both relevant to the everyday person and at a global level. I want to enter a field that requires constant learning and dedication. In my opinion, computers offer a large array of possibilities for explorations. New programs and languages are always created; therefore I must constantly keep up with my own research and develop my skills. This field never becomes boring or routine.
My personal goal is to obtain a degree in computer science. An academic program such as computer science can help me achieve these goals. The course will introduce me to information that is essential to secure a career in the future. This course will show me how to contribute in the advances of technology.
