Critical Thinking
Critical Thinking is a closely controlled thinker whom demanding assumptions as well as
contextual knowledge, of looking at all alternatives with many perspectives with deep
skepticism of breakdown that creates investigation, of information to assess the accurate
condition, and fair decision. Critical thinking happens to be both willing and able to think in
essences developing critical capacities for a better decision-maker. In which, requires of three
steps, One, be conscious of assumptions exist, Two, make assumptions unambiguous, Three,
assess their accuracy. Critical thinking in used in all facet of our existence: within our line of
work, as a bargain hunter, voter, acquaintance closes relative, as well as lover. Brookfield (1987)
defines reflective skepticism as the act of constantly questioning the status quo.
Critical Thinking is not something merely provided at birth. We encompass to develop
the skills overtime by asking questions example: Why, Why? As young children, we start
developing these core skills by asking the right questions while assembly a choice. Please, keep
in mind when decisions used to be made with "eeny-meeny-miney-mo.

Stages of Cognitive Development
Jean Piaget (1896-1980) defined birth to 2 years old: no thinking structures (called
schemas) and starts to develop such schemas through exploration of senses and
experimentation with environment. According to Jean Piaget stages of cognitive development
we don't start acknowledging and understanding how to solve problems until stages 3 and 4 of
our adolescences.
Concrete Operational Stage: 7 years to Adolescence: Begin to grasp conservation and
decentering begins to question life. Solves problems but haphazardly.
Formal Operations Stage: Adolescence and onward: now capable of sophisticated logical
thought. Can think in abstract. Can think hypothetically and solve problems using the logic of
combinations.
Why Critical Thinking Important
I am the baby (girl, daughter, sister) of the family in which I stood on a petal stool all my youthful life; I could do no wrong in my father's eyes. Another story for my brothers and mother in that thought! I actually never utilized my critical thinking skills merely the "I" think am mad now, "I" think am sad now, etc. My middle brother was very intelligent and well turned-out. All my time with him, I considered him my "Brain" forever there to reflect on the situation never wrong in giving me advice. However, our conversations would all the time start by him first saying, to me OK "Dum Ass" he is a jerk do not date him or No, she is not a true friend she is using you. No, that is a horrible college do not go. As well as No, do
not buy that car their ripping you off in financing the vehicle, you can get a better deal at this place. Etc. Now, I feel slighted that he is gone; matter facts today will be 13 years since he left us he was merely 32 years old. (Heart attack) However, he left the formula with me to think for myself and to make the right choices that are healthy for me as well as for my family.
Nevertheless, my challenges had merely began shortly
