(1) SYNOPSIS:
(1a) Thesis Statement
The risk of pandemic is inviting. The history has several evidences to demonstrate the violent outbreaks of influenza. There were 10 influenza pandemics, which have shown their devastating power to the mankind in the time of 3oo years. The infectious diseases are unpredictable, so the man should be prepared to face the situation. He has to perform many tasks in order to face the pandemic and try to make its influence less effective for the people.

Basics of the issue,
* The Pandemic can be unpredictable, and the form of the disease and the strength also cannot be seen beforehand.
* It cannot be stopped, but he effects can be minimized.
* The mankind has to face several health issues such as AIDS ,TB and Malaria
* The prevention of the infectious disease can be difficult.
* There are many examples in the history.
* Influenza has become one of the deadliest diseases of the history of the man.
* The viral disease can spread in a very fast speed.
* It is difficult to prepare a suitable drug for viral diseases.
* 1918-19, 1957-58 and 1968-69 influenza pandemics have taken millions of lives
Situation in the European continent,
* The European continent is the most exposed area of the world.
* The majority of the countries are not ready to face a pandemic.
* The economy will be disrupted in a situation of such spread of diseases.
* As most of the virus, which are related to influenza, use farm animals and birds as host, the disease can be spread very fast.
* Most of the Europeans travel a lot, so there is an increased risk of spreading the diseases faster.
* Many foreigners visit the European community, so more risk is there in getting the diseases contaminated.
Situation in the Asian and other developing countries
* Most of the Asian on countries do not have enough facilities to cope such situation.
* The people of those countries do not take care about the health of their farm and domestic animals.
* They keep lots of animals, which can be possible hosts and careers for the diseases.
* They do not have enough facilities or funds to manufacture antiviral drugs or other related items.
* The economy of the Asian countries will be badly affected.
Duty of the developed countries
* The industrialized countries can do a great work in order to save themselves as well as the world
* They should make an action plan.
* The antiviral medicines and other materials should be manufactured in an accelerated speed in order to face the future pandemic.
* The previous experience can do a great service for them to plan the future actions.
Some ideas to face the pandemic
* The UN can arrange a master plan to save the population.
* The relevant medicine as well as the supportive equipments should be manufactured in an accelerated pace.
* The people should be educated to face such a situation.
(2) CONNECTIONS:
Environment:
This article clearly explained the connection between the pandemic and the environment. The diseases can be exposed to the nature and it can be transported to other places, making them infected with the disease. The environment may have been polluted with the disease. The people had to get away from such environments or they may have to use some tools and equipment to face the pandemic.
Culture:
Culture is not being addressed by the writer. But here are several occasions that the culture and the awareness of the diseases are described. As an example, AIDS can be taken into the consideration. In many developing countries this disease is spreading very fast, because most people do not like discussing sexual information in the open and comprehensive manner. The certain cultures of the developing countries can be responsible for the spread and the contamination of the disease.
