The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) is an agency of the United States Department of Defense. Its dual missions are to provide quality merchandise and services of necessity and convenience to authorized customers at uniform low prices, and to generate reasonable earnings to supplement appropriated funds for the support of United States Army and Air Force Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs.
The purpose of this report is to evaluate AAFES' mission, vision, and core values and provide recommendations according in finding during the evaluation.
Mission
AAFES' mission focus on customers' market challenges and needs by providing excellent solutions and services in order to consistently create maximum value to customers.
Vision
To be the customers' first choice
Core Values
AFFES' core values grow towards a work environment, their integrity is their most valuable asset that drives them to behave honestly and keep their promises. Business can only succeed through teamwork their creativity to create something original or try something new and develop better solution. Their diversity is defined as valuing the concerns and desires of both the workforce and customers.
There is no doubt AAFES believe in diversity, they are unique in the way they differ associates and customers, and the value that brings to the workplace. Their diversity is physical such as nationality, gender, race and age. Diversity is their unique business opportunity where they stand united together by the cohesion in their company's core values and their customers' needs and expectations. AAFES' diversity is corporate to the business strategy, their goal is to attract and retain a quality workforce and opportunity for personal and professional grow at a fair level of compensation.
Findings
Like any other organization AAFES is compared with outsider competitors from prices to employee wages. Workers often complains about their pay, the hard work that they do every day they're often push to go an extra mile and excelling what they do with a promise of raise. Promotion for young employee is impossible to the point that someone will have to quit or die for them to move up
